Sea lions are originally from the northern Pacific Ocean

and then they slowly moved to the south Pacific. Seldomly they are

found in the Arctic, but never is it found in the Atlantic ocean.

The sea lion?s is much coarser and lacks silky under

fur. The sea lions usually choose open beaches for basking and

giving birth. The sea lion feeds on fish and it hunts close to the

shore. Two weeks after the females give birth they mate again. The

California population is over fifty thousand. The southern American

species is a large sea lion found in the southern half of the continent

colonies. There are also sea lions found in South Brazil, Chile, and

Peru.
