Psychological Concept Essay, Research Paper
For the procedure we will introduce ourselves individually disguised as being from another class (ie. ? Speech class) doing a survey. (to deviate from the purpose of our actual project) The questionnaires will then be distributed to two classes located in two different building on a college campus. The only instructions that will be given to the subjects are to plainly take the test. When the subjects have completed their questionnaires, they will be collected and we will thank them for their cooperation. This is the dialog of what will be said, ?Hello, we are students of a Speech class here to present a survey. This should only take about ten minutes of your time. Thank you for your cooperation.?
This is the detailed description of our research:
Create questionnaires:
- will have the subject specify their age, gender,, and classification
- contain a reasonable amount (approx. 15-25) of questions asking what image comes to mind when looking at a specific color
- at the end of each question there will be a colored square (either a bright color or a dull color) for the subject to refer to
- the questions will have 5 multiple choice answers (two positive, two negative, and neutral/neither) for the subjects to choose from
When all of the data is collected, the results will be evaluated:
- separate the males? answers from the females? answers
- determine:
o how many males answered negatively to the bright colors and how many answered negatively to the dull colors
o how many males answered positively to the bright colors and positively to the dull colors
o how many females answered positively to the bright colors and positively to the dull colors
o how many females answered negatively to the bright colors and negatively to the dull colors
- evaluate and record the results, focusing on the reactions (positive/negative) of men to each type of color (bright/dull) compared to the reactions of women to each type of color
