THE LOST GENERATION

The lost generation has to be one of the saddest generation of people to have ever lived. They were destroyed not only physically, but also mentally and spiritually. The soldiers would have prefered to die because when they got back home from the war, they felt ?lost? and didn?t recognize anything. Another sad thing is that they had no descent jobs available to them and most of them forgot what they learned in school. There was no G.I. Bill back then, but instead they just had to go back home to nothing. People at home, especially older men, don?t know what war is like. That is why the soldiers who survived WW I are called the Lost Generation. Finally, ?The Lost Generation are men who have escaped shell, both were destroyed by war.?1

They were destroyed in many ways especially physically.
