3. Field Of Work: Mendel was one of the first scientist to

study heredity and the science of genetics.

4. Notable Discoveries: Mendel was the first person to trace the

characteristics of successive generations of a

living thing. He was the first scientist to cross

peas of different varieties. He also worked

with mice. Known as the “Father of Heredity”

Mendel’s work became the foundation for modern genetics.
