Napoleon was born on Aug. 15, 1769 at Ajaccio, Corsica. He had one brother. Very little is known about the early years. When he was only 9 years old he and his brother went to college. Shortly there after he attended military School at Brienne. He then graduated 6 years later on the 28th of October 1979. On the 23 of August 1789 he swore his oath of loyalty to the king and his country. 10 years later he was promoted general of the armee de l’Ouest. A few months later he was promted to division general. One year later Napoleon becomes the commander and chief. He then lead a very successful military carrier. On the 25th of July 1799 a failed assassination took place. The bomb however killed and injured man others near by. On the 3rd of May 1803 he made the famous sale of Louisiana to the USA. All was relatively well till the great disaster of waterloo. He then gave up the throne on the 22nd of June 1815. Only to be exiled to what seemed at the end of the earth. St. Helens Island. Which is off the coast of Africa, he spent the rest of his life there. Napolean died on the 5th of May1821. He was so dedicated to the army that his last words were a la tete de Iarmee. To the head of the army.
