The Psychic Religion Show

One cold Sunday afternoon a young couple was sitting on the couch watching television when they came across a strange channel. The screen was wavy and colorful and the voice was echoed. Intrigued, the couple continued watching and eventually realized that they were listening to a psychic religion show. The voice was very monotone and spoke vividly of distant planets and communications with other worlds. After listening for a while, the couple heard the voice instruct anyone interested in obtaining “infinite intelligence” to meet at a restaurant at six o’clock that evening. For lack of anything better to do, the couple decided to go.

That evening they arrived promptly at six o’clock. To their surprise, they saw many strange people entering the restaurant. After peering around the corner in a dimly lit dining room they saw a small flying saucer hovering over the buffet table. It seemed to have strobe lights and what appeared to be a miniature laser gun firing at candles on a massive birthday cake.

Then one of the guests went over to the birthday cake, picked up a knife to slice a piece and a huge laser was fired and incinerated him on the floor of the restaurant. Then the grand priest said, “Let that be a lesson for all those who dare take a piece of cake before I do.” It was obvious that this large figured woman ate a tremendous amount of cake and sweets. Several bystanders who struggled to get her to her feet helped her up off the floor. After viewing all the commotion the couple decided that perhaps this new religion was not for them and decided to eat alone in a different room.

It was totally miraculous the strange things that were happening around here. First, the host shut the big door at the entrance and locked it. Next, everyone who was at the meeting began to run to different stations. It soon became apparent that something was wrong. “Let’s try to get out of here”, the young girl shrilled. They waited until they thought no one was watching and ran out the back door to the kitchen. Once they were in the back room, they saw many strange creatures walking around and heard a loud rumble. Running toward the window, the boy yelled, “Oh no, it’s a spaceship . . .. we’re taking off!” The girl was now very scared and turned around to run, but when she did she ran into one of the big creatures and he grabbed her and carried her into a cell. The girl screamed and yelled but it was useless. She thought to herself that she was about to die.

Just then, the girl screamed and when she opened her eyes she saw her boyfriend holding her asking if she was all right. Realizing that she had fallen asleep, the young girl came to the conclusion that she apparently had just had a bad dream. “Yes” she said, “I just had a terrible nightmare.” Her boyfriend consoled her and says, “I’m sorry.” “Would it make you feel better if we went out to eat tonight?” “Say around six o’clock.”
