First Catch Essay, Research Paper
After the First CatchThe first time of most things is an important part of our lives. Not all firsts are important such as the first and most likely only time you will experience any nanosecond, but the events that we can still recall in great detail at any time, I would consider important. This was a very important instant in my life because it was a very exciting and joys event during the thirteen years I had already lived.
In the reconstruction of this story, I added more details and fixed some grammatical errors. I also lengthened the story and took out some of the false details I added to the story because I promised the reader that there shall be no lies within this portfolio.
Fishing is a very fun and exciting activity to do in the summer because of the fast assortment of game there is in the deep ocean seas. There are goods and bad parts about fishing. Some of the positive aspects of fishing are the enjoyment within knowing that you have conquered an animal, which shows your superiority over it. The negative aspects of fishing is nearly plaguing this world, the world could run out of fish which would devastate this planet both economically and socially. An important cuisine contains fish and without any, there would be heavy damage done to all aspects of humans.
First CatchIt was 1995 and I was mere 8 years of age. It was a very beautiful summer day and I was out with my grandpa fishing on the beach by which he lives next to. It was the first time in my life I went fishing. The sun was striking the surface at around a fort-five degree angle, which made the sand glisten like a newly polished car. My grandpa was carrying his small little box filled with fishing equipment and his rod while I was carrying my own small little rod. My grandpa and I were very ecstatic like me because it was the first time I went fishing. He was smiling throughout the whole experience. He?s an old man with dark-blonde hair, what he has left, and is very lively and strong.
My grandpa and I exited the apartment building in which he lived in and headed towards the beach, which was right next to where he lives. I was very thrilled because I had never gone fishing before. I followed my grandpa and we headed toward the beach shores. At the beach there was a small artificial inlet built specifically for fishers. There were two other people there and they were around the age of my grandpa. The water was very clear which allowed me to see through it about fifteen feet. I could see the fish swimming throughout the water, which would soon be conquered by me! At that small inlet, we set everything up. We brought with us two fishing rods, one for me and one for my grandpa. I had just received my rod a few days back for this special event. It was a beautiful black rod with sparkles of dark green painted everywhere. The fishing rod was over three feet tall and was nearly as big as I was at the age of eight.
One thing we had to do during the setup is put the bait on the rod. It was a small piece of red meat, which was very slimy and disgusting. I was too grossed out to put the bait on the rod so my grandpa did it for me. After he finished putting the bait onto both his rod, and mine I grabbed my rod from him because I was very anxious to try it out. When I threw the hook into the ocean, I thought it was going to reach the deep areas of the ocean but it went probably a mere thirty or forty feet. I soon asked my grandpa for assistance and so I gave him my rod and hew threw the hook in about one hundred feet, which at the time was astonishing for me. After he threw it in, he gave the rod to me then took his hook and threw it into the ocean, which I believe went over one hundred feet.
We waited there for a while and something started pulling on his pole, he started pulling the fishing string back and there out of the ocean came some sort of jet-black crab. It was a big black crab, which was still moving when my grandpa took it out of the ocean. I was scared because I thought it was going bite me or cause me pain.
My grandpa and I waited there for a while but we didn?t catch anything else. At the time we left, the crab was still alive so we set it back into the ocean because we couldn?t really do much with it. After we let the crab go, we packed everything and then headed back home. That was my first catch even though I didn?t technically catch it.
