She Said Yes Essay, Research Paper

Chapter I

In the first chapter they went around asking people what there religion was just to kill them because they diden’t like them.Asking someone what their religions is just so they can kill you is harable and mean. I think if they knew what was going to happen they would not because they would know what their friends, familys, and lovedones would have to go throught.

Chapter II

I think that her dad didn’t want to have the baby because he thought it would be to much work, cost to much money, and take away from his time. When she was born he thought to himself that he was this child’s father and its his responsibility to take care of her and he loved her. I don’t think that he should have took her on the dirt bike because of the danger it held, and the risk that it involved in taking her on it. Her dreams must have been heart trenching seeing her little girl getting killed over and over again. When she first slept without a sleeping aid had to be the worst the way she had one right after another.

Chapter III

I think they shouldn’t have gone through her stuff because teenagers should be intitled to a little privacy in their own bedrooms. But on the other hand it’s a good thing they did find the letters that way they could help Cassie cope with her problems instead of her trying to fix them on her own. Her friends could have been a little more down to earth rather than depicting graphic drawings of drugs, vampires, and dead people. When she found out that her parents had the letters she could have been a little less harsh instead of yelling at them for trying to help her.

Chapter IV

In the begging where they told about all the family murders that was gruesome seeing how anyone could kill their parents like that. Her friend Jamie I think was a good influence on her even though she didn’t look or seem like it. She was because her personality was good and loving. The mother’s friend Susan had a good point in telling her not to be a friend but a mother, and to take charge of things set boundaries instead of bending over backwards for her. I think that they should have pressed charges and maybe got a restraining order against the boys to protect not only herself but her family too.

Chapter V

I think that it’s a good thing they let her go. Not just because she was a friend, but because it was a Church outing and letting her go may help her to recover and making her feel more responsible. I don’t think they should have been so skeptical about her changing. When she went to the Church retreat I think she felt more comfortable when she saw that the other were somewhat dressed as her and Jamie. Her mother might have been a little to judgmental in her friends, like when she saw Jamie she made the decision that she was into what Mono was. She was wrong about her, and then others she saw as well. When she went to pick up Cassie she saw the type (or so she thought) she did not want her hanging around with. Only because of the way they dressed.

Chapter VI

I think that letting Cassie go to Columbine was both a good and bad idea. Good because that made her feel more trusted and she had a good friend there and everything. Bad because she was being exposed to different things now that she was in a public school, not private. Apparently she had really overcome her problems that time at the Youth Group. It’s a good thing that she took up a different hobby rather than drugs or drawing vampires. This way photography kept her busy and she didn’t have much time at all to do any of the bad stuff.

Her “ex-friends” could have been more kinder to her rather than egging her house our yelling at her taunting her. She did miss them as would I, but she didn’t miss them the way she used to. She did change. I also think that her mother telling her not to give her $100 was kind of a bad idea because it was her money.

Chapter VII

I think she was one of the bravest girls in that school for saying yes. I myself do not know what I would have done in that situation. I also would consider her a martyr. When she came to Shauna and told her that she had heard some people talking about her and she did not defend her, that was very brave. I would have not done that.

Chapter VIII

I think that the reason she said all the things about if she was still living that she would have sent her to Cambridge or been nicer to her is that you miss people more once they are gone for good. You realize how some of the things you’ve done to them might seem foolish now but they really weren’t at the time u were enforcing them. When one visitor wrote “evil basted” on one of the crosses that was cruel and something probably a mother of one of the victims had done, as if to say they didn’t deserve them, which they didn’t. But still they shouldn’t have done that on a cross. The letter that the Klebold family wrote was very uplifting and caring of them. It had to be so hard for them to write about how their son had killed others then themselves. They had a lot of bravery.
