The Negative Effects -Fairytal Essay, Research Paper

The fairytales Cinderella translated by Jack Zipes an old story about a young girl s

triumph over domestic abuse and Snow White translated by Jack Zipes an old tale also about

a young girl s hardships and how she manages to live through the fight. Both Cinderella and

Snow White deliver optimistic themes that educate young girls they can overpower immense

obstacles in their lifetime without becoming bitter. The stories teach that good overcomes evil,

optimism can overpower any calamity, and believing in yourself can give you great success.

Foremost, Cinderella and Snow White both have to conquer hard situations. Cinderella

has to triumph over neglect, suffering, and mistreatment. She first has to cope with the death of

her mother. This unquestionably caused much psychological damage to Cinderella. She

additionally has to deal with her father s second wife, who is tremendously nasty and wicked at

heart. Cinderella s stepmother brings along her two corrupt daughters, who are also disgusting

and venomous in a way. Cinderella is also neglected because her step family do not care about

her and do not want to be around her. The two nefarious sisters do not like Cinderella, and not

in a million years want her around. They express, Why should the stupid goose be allowed to

sit in the parlor with us? The stepsisters also consider themselves to be superior to Cinderella

in all ways imaginable. For example, They take away her beautiful clothes, embellish her in an

outdated gray smock, and [give] her wooden shoes. Cinderella is then tantalized and laughed at

while she is being shoved into the kitchen. Cinderella is severely mistreated by her step family.

Her step family anticipate her to work from morning till night. She wakes up no later than

dawn and carries buckets of water to the house, makes a fire, cooks, and washes. Following the

totality of these hardships that her step family causes, she is then made to appear laughable, and

they induce heartache in her.

Similarly, Snow White has to overpower being hunted down, and she runs away while an

evil man prompted by her stepmother seeks her out to murder her. Snow White first has to deal

with her life being preyed on by the old witch, her stepmother. She attempts to kill Snow White

for the first time by employing a huntsman to tear the lungs and the liver out of Snow White for

confirmation of Snow White s death. Fortunately, she escapes death because her beauty and

innocense. The evil stepmother then [paints] her face and [dresses] as an old peddler woman so

that no one [can] acknowledge her. She has so much hate towards Snow White that she crosses

seven mountains to perform her evil and wicked act, but she fails to succeed. She then uses

temptation to kill Snow White by using a red toothsome apple that is poisoned. The witch

finally prevails by manipulating Snow White to eat the apple. She thinks she has won when the

drugged Snow White falls into a deep coma.

Throughout both stories, neither Cinderella nor Snow White become bitter. This lets

young girls realize that no matter how degrading a situation is they can still overpower it. Both

suffer mental abuse for long periods of time. Even so, Cinderella and Snow White never turn

around and retaliate. They also stay very strong and do not complain or get back at their

opponents. They remain very kind throughout the story and help others when in need. This

teaches young girls the value of being kind to their enemies.

In addition, because Cinderella and Snow White do not become bitter, they are able to

make friends. Snow White is able to make friends with mice and other helpful animals, and

Cinderella is able to make friends with the dwarfs, who feed and house her. This teaches girls a

valuable lesson: When you are kind to others, kindness will be favorably bestowed upon you.

With their kindness they can influence their new friends in ways that are beneficial to them.

Newton s third law states that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

These stories relate to Newton s third law because in both stories the individuals who

impersonate evil get punished at the conclusion of both stories.

Life is hard at times, but with a strong heart and a lot of might, you can overcome

anything in life. It is crystal-clear that Cinderella and Snow White are victorious over numerous

impediments and vicissitudes, and in the process, they manage to rise above to gain positions of

influence and power. They shook off their helpless states and accomplish more than they ever

dreamed possible.

Both stories deliver the importance of overpowering huge obstacles of life without

becoming bitter or hateful towards others. The stories teach that good overcomes evil, optimism

can overpower any calamity, and believing in yourself can give you great success. Perhaps, the

most recent incident where a 14-year old girl allegedly shot her classmate would have read these

stories, the daily top news would have been different.
