In Hames Cameron’s film, Titanic, the motication of the main characters, locale, nand theme work together to produce a memoravle story. The motivation of the main characters refer to the grounds for their actions. In this film, the four main characters were Jack Dawson, Rose, Rose’s fiance (Cal), and Rose’s mother. The locale was the setting of the story. The theme in the film refers what the film is about and what the writer is trying to convey to the views. The motivation of the main characters is essentialelement that keeps the viewers interested in the film “I saw my whole life as if I’d already lived it………an endless parade of parties and cotillions, yachts and polo matches …….always the same narrow people, the same mindless chatter. Ifelt like I was standing a a great precipice, with no one to pull me back, no one who cared……or even noticed.” -Rose DeWitt-Bukater she saw how suffocating her life was, how she had veen trained since childhood to be a possessing, a doll for men. Rose motivation was the fact she was confused and looking for answers and wanted freedom over controll. Rose was tired of haveng everything decided for her. That is why she rebelled so much. Jacks motivation played a vital role in Roses life. His motivation of love for Rose helped Rose her quest for answers. Jis love was the support that helped her. That was essential part of Rose’s connection to Jack. Jack challenged her to recognize that she had a choice. Jack did not tell Rose, “Leave Cal and let me take care of you,” he told her, leave Cal and make it on your own.” Cal, Roses fiance, was not for one half the movie, All he wanted to do was Marry Rose.He was devoted to her, he tried his best to impress her. He begged for her love. She resisted him, though she had agreed to marry him.Rose was found in third class in the arms of Jack. This was serious now Cal’s reputation was at stake. He could not marry a woman who was going to cheat on him, and make a fool of him in society. Cal was very conscious of his standing in society. He was, however, in love with Rose, that lead to the breakfast scene, where Cal attempted to brutally intimidate rose into submission, and partially succeeded. It looked vicious, but to a man of that time he was simply being a strong man correcting a wayward soon to be his wife. Cal was not so much a cillain as some make him out to be or the bad guy
