EN101A Summary: Money Can t Do It 2/11/00 In the story Money Can t Do It, by Michael Persh he is telling us that he should not have taken money for granted. When Michael was in high school he was spoiled and had jut about everything he wanted. He told us that he was one of the cool one s. The reason why Michael depended on his parents so much was because his father owned a variety store and new he could ask for money any time he pleased. As soon as Michael graduated everything began to go down hill for him. Wal-Mart came into town drove their father s variety store out of business. Mike then sold his car, dropped out of college and decided to move far away so he could get rid of his problems. He started working at the Grand Canyon North Rim as a waiter. That s where he met some new friends and then decided to move to Seattle. When he moved to Seattle he hit rock bottom. Mike said that he had got caught up in drugs, alcohol, and tobacco. The incidents he had with those substances led him into the hospital. Seattle was Mike s turn around for him because that s where he grew up and realized that his parents love is more valuable than money.
