Moderate high score

Description: A moderate score indicates that you generally have clear goals, but are also able to set tasks aside. You probably take your commitments and responsibilities quite seriously, but you try not to let concerns such as these dominate your life. You tend to balance the pressure of meeting your work goals with a satisfactory life by either being selective in the projects you choose or managing your time such that you seldom fall behind in your work. You may sometimes have difficulty accepting responsibility or following plans through to completion.

Workstyle: Most of the time you are reliable and industrious at work. For the most part your employers see you as a good worker. You tend to be focused, work hard and get the work accomplished. You are rarely late or absent. Work is a very important facet of your life. This is a trait that many employers look for in their applicants and employees. Thoroughness has been found to be related to integrity (as measured by an employment integrity test) as well as customer service and management potential.

Extroversion

Moderate low score

Description: You are somewhat shy, quiet, reserved, retiring and focused inward. You prefer to be alone or with a few close friends. There may be several reasons for this: you may value you own privacy over socializing with others, you may be a reserved person or shy, or you may consider it inappropriate to share your views with others unless asked. You prefer to listen rather than talk, and often need time to recharge after spending time with others by being alone. Although you enjoy the company of close friends, you also like to have time for reflection, introspection and solitude to re-energize.

Lifestyle: You are concerned for your health, but you may not exercise as often as you should, or you simply do not enjoy over-exerting yourself. You may have to give yourself an extra push to actually start getting in shape.

Workstyle: You don’t really like working in teams or on group projects as much as some of your extroverted counterparts. It’s not that you are necessarily opposed to working with others, but you may need some time to yourself to make clear decisions. You may at times appear as indecisive to others, when in truth you often like to reflect on different issues and reach your own conclusions before sharing your thoughts. You seldom complain about work related problems, but may let this pressure build within you. You are not quick to praise others, not because you don’t appreciate their work, but because you may feel superficial or phony doing it. Extroversion has also been found to be related to management and sales potential. To excel in these areas you may want to focus on your level of extroversion.

Love Style: Because you are more introverted than extraverted and prefer to be alone or with a few close friends, you may have occasional difficulty meeting and establishing intimate relationships with others. This certainly does not mean that you have not had or cannot have such relationships, but the number of intimate relationships you have had with others in the past is probably few in number. If you are already in a satisfying long-term relationship or married, then this is not a concern. If you are not in a relationship and feel you are struggling with this issue, then the section below titled “coping with shyness” may provide some information to assist you in improving your love life.

Because you are moderate low on extraversion, you would probably feel comfortable with someone who ranges from introverted to moderately extraverted. You may enjoy outgoing activities with your partner but also can appreciate quiet time and solitude. A relationship with a moderately extraverted person might compliment your occasional desires for outgoing, social activities.

You may occasionally put your needs ahead of others, sometimes for selfish reasons, other times because you are under pressure to meet your goals or solve your own problems first. You are usually able to work for the benefit of the group without compromising your individuality or sacrificing your personal needs. You are usually able to accept people on good faith as deserving of your trust, though you are occasionally skeptical of certain individuals and their motives. You have a generally upbeat look on life, but can succumb to occasional bouts of cynicism and down heartedness.

Workstyle: Your concern for others makes you a good team player. Agreeableness is important for both leaders and followers. Leaders who are agreeable have been found to be more emotionally mature, better at maintaining cooperative relationships with followers, and more sensitive to the needs of followers. An overemphasis on being friendly may cause problems in times where quick or tough decisions need to be made, especially when some of your colleagues might be angered by your decision. Your moderate score on this trait indicates that you can probably make these tough decisions when they are required. Agreeableness has also be found to be related to integrity (as measured by an employment integrity test), customer service and inversely related to sales potential.

Description: You are essentially stable, but you may occasionally be prone to feelings of anxiety and insecurity. Though you may occasionally experience these feelings, you may also keep them to yourself. If you do succumb to an emotional outburst, it is a rare event and probably occurred because you felt justified. You may experience occasional self-doubt, and you may sometimes be a little too sensitive. You sometimes feel moody, temperamental, and irritable under stress. Most of the time you are able to keep these negative feelings at bay.
