Our Masculine-Feminine Misconceptions

How many times have you said something and thought your significant other understood perfectly what you meant only to find that they’d interpreted your statement in a totally different way? Men and women think differently. There’s no doubt about it. For instance, How many times have you heard the term Your not listening to me or You just don t get it. Well for me I hear this a lot. I believe there are two man differences.

I think a big difference between men and women are relationships. Men can easily establish a relationship with women, and in most cases they can more easily break off this relationship. In other words, men just consider this relationship as a period of dating. While Women, on the other hand, are very careful when they start to build a relationship with men, and they do their best to keep this relationship going. Women act as if no matter what if they are starting a relationship it is to get married. Another thing I noticed in relationships is that men have a much stronger heart. I am not saying that men love their spouse or date more, but that men do not suffer as much in a break up or fight. This might not apply to all men, but that is what I have gathered from my 20 years of trying to understand women.

Another difference I have noticed is communications skills. Generally men do not talk about their private life as much. If you ask a man how their day was a most likely a response would be Pretty good . If you ask a woman how their day was, well I hope you have about an hour or so because the answer Pretty good may come at the end of that hour. It also seems that men have a much shorter vocabulary span then women. While we know this is not true its seems that men use a simple no answer while women may use a five to ten minute speech to say one simple word.

Men mostly talk about what s going on outside their house and family. In this perceptive women are much different. They always talk about their family or anything else in that matter. I think its because women want to make their lives happier so they want to know every little thing they can do to achieve this. For some reason women love to talk whether its is talking on the phone with a girlfriend, watching a movie, or just by themselves. Women love to talk on the phone to each other, even when it is about nothing. When men talk it is only about practical things, like sports of the season, the latest cars, how to fix something, or how politics has been going. Think about it, how many men do you know that calls another man just to talk. Not many

While these are just a few differences between men and women I felt these were the most important. There have books, TV programs, and radio talk shows on gender differences and hopefully some day men and women will be able to communicate or understand each other better.
