violenceAnyone who likes to watch sports, always likes to see a good fight. Whenever you see a little league game how often do you see a player arguing or fighting? Professional sports players are supposed to be role models for younger athletes. If a youngster sees his role model fighting on television he might believe it is an okay thing to do. A problem with professional sports today is the amount of violence it represents. Many people I talk to do not even like a sport, but they watch it just to see a good fight. Professional sports are designed for the best athletes to compete against each other for a prize. Unnecessary violence must be handled more strictly for the fairness of the players and fans. One solution to the unnecessary violence is the strict enforcement of large fines. Fines are being used today, but they are not enforced as strict as they need to be. Someone who is making five million dollars a year is not going to care very much if they are fined five or ten thousand dollars for breaking a rule. If larger fines were enforced, they may think twice before breaking a rule.

Another solution is a set suspension for the crime committed. Someone who does not know what their suspension will be might take their chances with someone determining their punishment. If someone knows they will be suspended for ten games for fighting, then that may deter them from doing that by [email protected]
