The process of execution by lethal injection involves a carefully organized program. As it is stated in the article My Friend s Execution by William Vance Trollinger Jr. the process of execution is divided in a number of steps. First, two days before the execution, the prisoner is moved into the death cell, which is located in the depths of the prison. At the death cell the prisoner is allowed to have visitors, while a video camera records everything. This is being done in order that the prisoner will not commit suicide. Next, at the day of the execution and at 5:58 the escort arrives and the visitors leave. Later that day the prisoner receives his last meal and he is being prepared for the execution by the prison authorities. Later the visitors and the witnesses are being moved to the waiting room. Shortly before the execution instructions are given to the visitors and to the witnesses. Next the prisoner is moved from the death cell to the execution chamber, which is near to the death cell. Finally a few minutes after midnight the lethal drug is injected to the prisoner. With this the process of the execution is completed and the prisoner is dead.
