Imagine yourself in the Globe Theater, watching the opening to Shakespeare’s new play Julius Caesar. You are in the standing pit because you do not have any money. The play begins. The drool starts to run from the commoner’s mouths. The play is very intense. Oh my gosh! Caesar was just killed. The blood it looks so real. Brutus what have you done. Brutus you are a hero. Brutus is scum. Long live Antony. Antony praises Brutus for his morals, for he was the only one in the conspiracy that was in it for the good of the people and not himself. You and your friends go back to your shack to evaluate the leadership roles of Brutus, Caesar, and Antony.

Brutus has displayed his leadership role thought out the play by taking control of the conspiracy. Many of his lines show that he is a leader and not a follower. Lines such as “They are the faction. O conspiracy. This was showing how he was controling the conspiracy. When they were decieding who to kill, Brutus was the final vote. What he said went. Cassius thought that they should kill Antony along with Caesar, but Brutus thought that they would look like butchers if they did that. They did not kill Antony because Brutus said not to. That was an example the power that he had over them. He said in his speech to the crowd after Caesar’s death that if he no longer was important to Rome, he would kill himself. He proved that at the end of the play by fall on his sword. This was a way to die in honor. He display everything that you would want a leader to be.

“Stand you directly in Antonius way when he doth run his course. Antonius!” This was an example of how Caesar had control over other people. This showed his power of Antony. Antony is a very powerful man and he replies to Caesar by saying, “I shall remember. When Caesar says “Do this” it is performed.” Thus quote came from a very powerful man in Antony. That showed great respect to Caesar. He also displayed ignorance which many leaders have. He showed this when he did not listen to the soothsayer saying, “Beware of the ides of March.”Because of Caesar’s ignorance he died. Your life is the largest price that you can pay for anything. Caesar could have been a great leader but it was not ment to be.

Antony was an incredible leader because of how smart he was. The way that he could minipulate people was incredible. He was able to changes a gaint crowds opinion on Brutus and the rest of the conspirators in a short amount of time. He used a technique call reverse phycolology. This technique was very effective. The way that this technique works is you tell them one thing while emphisizing something else. This proved the genious behind Antony leadership qualities.

In conclusion I would like to end it with my favorite quote from the whole play. This was said by Antony as he was giving Caesars funeral orration. “I speak not to disprove what Brutus spoke but I am here to speak what I know.” The way that this rolls off your tounge is just beautiful. The meaning is very cool, it saying how he has not come to shame Brutus but to speak what he feels. I am a strong believer in speaking what you feel. Remember speak what you feel!
