From my porchLooking into the horizon, watching the sun fade into majestic amber streaksThe luxuriant veils of sky stained with a sapphire radianceI see how useless and small my hands areAnd how worthless anything I can ever accomplish is in the workings of the worldThe universe expands before me, before my light blue eyes into a limitless voidAnd there is nothingNothing to expose a purpose or meaningAnd no vehement thrashing or fitful struggle of my own can change this

There is nothingAnd here on the outskirts of town summer draws to closeSoon these thoughts will vanish along with the memories of summer bliss.And the nights spent contemplating the fiery constellations from my lonely porch will be no moreAgain I ll be tossed into a torrent of flesh,To fend for myself and my superficial goalsThe heat shall fadeAs the town is invaded by the desperate plague of winterAs the kindom once again finds itself in a state of sorrowful siegePeter Smith Bigpeter34@yahoo.com
