1.0 INTRODUCTION Congratulations, you are now a soldier. You now have the duties that come with that and that is to fight for your country. The front is very different compared to recruit training and for that reason this is why we have published this manual. It hopes to help you familarize yourself on what you will go through at the front. Take note on the points given in this manual as it could help to save your friends life or more importantly yours. 2.0 BASICS 2.1 READ MANUAL -Be sure to read this manual again at front as to help you remember important points. 2.2 FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH IMPORTANT BUILDINGS -Be sure to observe your surroundings and take note of important buildings such as toilet, food dispersal, command tent and most importantly the field hospital. 3.0 MENTAL PREPARATION 3.1 INACTIVITY -There will be moments during the attack that you will be sitting around doing nothing. During these moments always be aware of what is happening around you. Be aware of where the enemy is at all times. 3.2 SHELL SHOCK -This is the final stage of a soldiers mental being. -If a comrade is in shell shock alert a Commander at once. 4.0 EQUIPMENT 4.1 VITAL EQUIPMENT -You must always carry a rifle, dagger and shovel with you at all times. -Make sure the dagger is sharp and does not have serrated edges as these could catch on enemy clothing and as a result, your death. 5.0 CLOTHING 5.1 BOOTS -Your boots are absolutely imperative they protect your feet from shrapnel and glass. 5.2 HELMETS -HELMETS ARE TO BE WORN AT ALL TIMES. They not only protect your head if you fall down a trench but could save you from a fatal blow to the head from a stray bullet from the enemy. 5.3 CAMOUFLAGE -Your uniform should blend in with your surroundings to help protect you from the enemies. 6.0 PACK 6.1 WEIGHT -The weight of the pack should be at a minimum. If it is at a minimum you will be able to maneuver faster if the trench is ordered to evacuate. 6.2 TORCH -The torch will come in very handy for investigating objects in the dark 6.3 WATER FLASK -The water flask is to quench your thirst at the front. – The water flask is also useful to wash wounds. 6.4 GAS MASK -Have your gas mask hanging on the side of your pack for quick retrieval in an

emergency. – Make sure the straps are in working condition and will not snap. 6.5 AMMUNITION -Although there should be plenty of ammunition within your squad always have your rifle loaded. -Always carry a extra magazine with you. 6.6 GRENADES -Grenades come in useful for a distant attack. -At least have acouple with you, and make sure the pin does not get snagged on any objects in your bag or on you. 7.0 LIVE FIRE 7.1 WATCH YOUR HEIGHT -Be sure when moving around to stay low to the ground and not to get up much except when you need to make a run this should help to avoid a fatal shot. 7.2 WHISTLING -Listen out to see if the bullets from the enemy are high, medium or low. 8.0 GAS ATTACK 8.1 GAS MASK -As soon as the instruction is given that there is gas in the air be sure to put on your gas mask and fit it correctly. – Do not take it off until you are certain that the gas has disappeared. 8.2 GAS -The gas will practically spread everywhere. -It will be in the wind, hollows, trenches even small gaps. Be sure to get out of the trench when there is a gas attack. 9.0 INJURIES 9.1 STOMACH WOUNDS -If you have eaten prior to a wound to the stomach it will take longer for your death therefore more pain. -It is better not to eat directly before going to the front. 9.2 BANDAGING -Make sure the wound can be covered by the bandage. -If the wound is a bad one there is little chance that a bandage will help keep your comrade alive. – Call a medic if the wound is bad. 9.3 HEAD WOUND -There is nothing you can do. Death is soon. 9.4 LEG/ARM WOUNDS -Get the victim to a hospital as soon as possible. -If the wound is in the arm run him back to the medics. -If the wound is in the leg assist comrade to a safe position. – Always provide cover for the injured from gunfire because he will not be able to help himself. 10.0 ENEMY ASSAULT 10.1 APPROACHING TRENCH -Shoot anything that moves. -Run on foot, do not crawl on ground. – Be aware. 10.2 REACHED ENEMY TRENCH -Shoot any distant enemies. – Use spade edge on close enemies, a blow to the head is fatal. – Kill all the enemies in the trench. 11.0 TAKING PRISONERS 11.1 WHAT TO DO? -Secure them well -Search prisoner for weapons -Don’t be tempted to torture or kill them. – Do not show them any sign of weakness. 12.0 CONCLUSIONYou are a soldier. Your duty is to fight for your country, however you will face torturousconditions out on the front so be prepared. Always carry this manual with you for a quickreference guide.
