Task Centered Model Task-Centered model is a time-limited, goal-oriented

method designed to help individuals, groups, and families with problems

living. The task-centered-model is designed to help clients solve problems

through their own actions or through tasks that they select, plan, and

accomplish with the support of a practitioner. Procedures and steps are

provided, and the treatment consists of 6 to 12 interviews over a two to four

month period. I. Task-Centered-Treatment A. Contractual agreement,

between worker and client B. Helping clients move forward with solutions to

their problems C. Clients viewed in the context of their environmental milieu

II. Problems are classified Into Eight Distinct Groupings A. Interpersonal

conflict B. Dissatisfaction in social relations C. Problems with formal

organizations D. Difficulty in role performance E. Decision problems F.

Reactive emotional distress G. Inadequate resources H. Psychological or

behavioral problems not elsewhere classified III. Client and Worker

Relationship A. Role and responsibilities of client and worker B. Intervention

continues within contract agreement C. Client and worker problem solving

action IV. Termination of Treatment A. Final session – Accomplishments are

reviewed and assessed B. Client’s continued work to deal with future

problems
