Generation Difference
For my semester grade, I interviewed a five-year-old, a twenty-four year old and a fifty-year-old. It is remarkable how much the gap between generations has an effect on the way children today are.
The five-year-old girl that I interviewed (Cat) was a pleasure to talk to. She aspires to be a movie star when she gets older. She loves to dance and is especially good at singing. She is involved in a church organization, dances a dance studio and loves to go to school. She is so enthusiastic and loves to do everything that makes her happy. Cat hardly ever gets frustrated and sets her mind to do whatever she pleases. I believe she will succeed at whatever possible when she grows older. She is so strong minded and does not let anything stand in the way. She is truly the path to our future of young people. Cat is the type of girl I wish I was when I was that age. He peers love and respect her even though she is only five.
The twenty-four-year-old (Dog) is the type of person we today like to call an over-achiever. He is a college student in another town, president of the student body, double majoring in Computer Science and Business, a church goer and a father to a five-year-old. He would someday like to own his own software company and give his son the life he always wanted. Right now he is struggling to pay for college and day-care because he has a low paying managerial job at Whata-Burger, but I believe he is going to succeed in his life. H He loves his life and would never change it for anything. His love for his son is strong and has always been great. I believe just by being the person he is, he is the most wonderful part of his son’s life and between both of them their lives are going to go somewhere.
The fifty-year-old that I interviewed (Kitty) is one of the most important person in my life. I look up to her with all my heart and soul. She is the sole reason that I am in your class today. This person is the one who pays for my college experience. Kitty believes that she is good at reading and swimming. She has never been the type to work or please other people, she does just as she pleases. She is involved in many groups: Bluebonnet Drama Club, church group and is a supporter of the AA, MADD and other drug related support groups. The reason that she is the person that she is today is because of the fact that after her husband died and left her a small fortune. She has no reason to succeed or fail in her life. Kitty believes that she has lived her life and has sole fulfillment in just living day by day now and I am in total agreement with her.
These are the people I chose to interview, although none of them have failed in their lives it is uncertain as to which they will or not. Life has already dealt us our cards, but it ultimately up to us to way we play them. One wrong turn can change our entire lives, so for right now I am just happy that they are succeeding.
