Romeo

A childish boy

Or

A man who found true love?

In the play Romeo and Juliet two people fall in love and end up killing themselves because they couldn t be together. Their families were known for having a long history of family rivalry and then the unexpected, marriage of Juliet to Paris. Some people don t believe in true love and soul mates, but those people have just never met theirs. I believe Romeo was a deep person with a kind heart and a brave soul. I think Shakespeare wanted Romeo to be portrayed as a lover, not a hater.

A soul mate is someone you meet and instantly know you could spend the rest of your life with, even though you know nothing about them. When you look at them you just know they could never bore you. You can feel something. You know that if they were the last person on earth, you couldn t be happier. A line I once read in my research of Tarot changed my thoughts towards true love. The minute I heard my first love story, I started looking for you, not knowing how blind that was. Soul mates don t finally meet somewhere. They re in each other all along. I believe that Romeo met Juliet and knew they were soul mates. Juliet felt the same way. In the play when Romeo says, I know not how to tell thee who I am: My name, dear saint, is hateful to myself, because it is an enemy to thee. Had I it written, I would tear the word. He knows that by telling Juliet that he is a Montague he will scare her away. But even after she knows that he is a family rival she still wants to be with him.

Romeo did have every line going in the book, but his intentions behind them were genuine. He, unlike most males had deep feelings towards love. He did not like violence and killing he d rather think about his love, for love. Even though he loved Rosalind, once he laid eyes on Juliet, she was forgotten. That doesn t make him insincere. He knew he had found true love.

I believe that if your willing to die for someone else, then you re either love them or your crazy. Romeo couldn t stand the thought of living on this planet without Juliet. He could of found love somewhere else. But he didn t. He took his own life. When Romeo says, Death, that hath suck d the honey of thy breath, Hath had no power yet upon thy beauty. Thou art not conquer d; beauty s ensign yet is crimson in thy lips and in thy cheeks, and death s pale flag is not advanced there. O here will I set my everlasting rest, and shake the yoke of inauspicious stars. From this world-wearied flesh. Eyes, look your last. Romeo really loved Juliet. He wanted to die for her. That s devotion.

Romeo by far was not perfect, but more of a man than most. Expression of feelings is the best communication between two people. His love was new and yet he knew it was real. This story is a tragedy not because of the plot, but because love like that doesn t come around too often.

As the prince said, For there never was a story of more woe, Than this of Juliet and her Romeo.
