Romeo And Juliet: Love & Death Essay, Research Paper
Romeo & Juliet: Love and Death
In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare love and death are linked together. There are several instances when love and death take place. Romeo and Juliet die for their love of eachother. Tybalt, Juliet s cousin, kills Mercutio. Romeo kills Tybalt and Paris. Lady Montague dies for the love of her son Romeo. Romeo and Juliet s marriage is changed during the play. As Juliet met her love Romeo her childhood suddenly dies. This shows that many people killed eachother or died because of love.
Romeo and Juliet die because they love eachother. Throughout the play, Romeo and Juliet cause the deaths of many people. They each die because Romeo thinks Juliet is dead so he takes a poison and Juliet wakes up to see Romeo dead so she then kills herself. Tybalt killed Mercutio because he took Romeo s place when the two groups fought. They were fighting because of the rivalry between the Capulets and the Montagues. Then Romeo killed Tybalt because he loved his friend Mercutio so much and now he is dead. Romeo also kills Paris because he loved Juliet so much.
In Romeo and Juliet love and death are linked when Romeo loves Juliet so much that he killed himself for her when he thought she was dead . Then Juliet killed herself when Romeo died.
Juliet s childhood dies when she meets Romeo. She does not want to marry Paris because she is married to Romeo and loves him too much. Lord Capulet tells Juliet when she is to marry Paris. She disobeys her father and says that she does not want to marry him. Lord Capulet says,
Hang thee, young baggage! disobedient wretch! I tell
thee what-get thee to church a Thursday or never
after look me in the face. Speak not, reply not, do
not answer me! Wife, we scarce thought us blest
that God had lent us but this only child; but now
I see this one is one too much, and that we have
a curse in having her. Out on her, hilding! (III.V.161).
Lord and Lady Capulet will disown Juliet if she does not marry Paris. They would leave her on the streets on her own with no food, money, or even a place to stay. This shows that they do not care about her and they would leave her to die alone. Juliet loves Romeo so much that she would have her parents disown her. By this you can see that when Juliet meets Romeo she becomes mature and therefore her childhood ends.
Romeo and Juliet s love leads to their own deaths because they cannot live without eachother. They killed themselves because they each thought the other was dead. They felt the same for eachother when they both would kill themselves for the one they loved. Their love was a mutually strong relationship. They felt that there was no reason to live if they cannot be with the one and only person they loved.
In conclusion, Romeo and Juliet loved eachother and killed themselves for their love. Their relationship was so strong that they could not be apart. The love of both of them not only killed themselves but it also killed the lives of others. These deaths were caused by the secret love of Romeo and Juliet.
