A Christmas Carol

The main character is Scrooge. He is very mean to other

people. He wouldn t give a dime to anyone. Scrogge is very

depressed, he doesn t even get happy around the holidays. When

anyone wished him a Merry Christmas, he just says humbug.

Most of the children fear him. His assistant, Bob Cratchit, is very

kind. Does things to make others happy. He is basically the

opposite of Scrooge. That is how the author makes us favor Bob

and dislike Scrooge.

The conflict with Scrooge is external. Bob Marley and

Scrooge. This is a different conflict because Bob isn t against

Scrooge, he is helping Scrooge change his attitude so he doesn t

end up like himself.

After all three sprits visit Scrooge he changes his attitude to

the opposite of his attitude before. He is now generous, caring, and

happy. The reader begins to like Scrooge more after his big

change.

Scrooge is a dynamic character because of his big change in

attitude towards others. If Scrooge never changed he would not be

a dynamic character and the story would not have a point to it.
