Globalization is not in the favor of poor countries like Haiti and only works to benefits the rich countries. I believe if they really wanted to help the Haitian people, they would help the peasants to get assistance from the government and other international organization that would give them appropriate technology such as fertilizers, tractors so they can increase productivity. They would also engage in policies that would decrease in the country’s imports and use the cheap labor surplus to increase exports. the IMF primary role for me is to make policies that will benefit foreign investors. The policies they force the Haitian government only benefit American exporters of rice.
