All 296 pages are filled with suspense, action, and power. The authormakes you feel like your right there on Treasure Island with Jim Hawkins,Mr. Trelawney, Captain Smollet, Dr. Livesey, and hunter in their battles withpirates and adventures for treasure. I’d give this book “two thumbs up.” Thisgrand book is a timeless classic and I can see why. What a great book RobertLouis Stevenson has written. Jim Hawkins is in the scariest place a child his age could be. He’s on anIsland with what he realizes, in the middle of his voyage, are pirates,including the “Infamous Long John Silver” who will do anything to get hisformer captain’s treasure, Captain Flint. Ben Gunnclaims that for a little cheese he’ll show Jim the biggest treasure he’ll ever seein his entire life, but from what Jim knows and thinks about Ben, it wouldappear that Ben Gunn has gone insane and is making up stories,unfortunately he’s not. Then Ben and Jim meet up with Jim’s friends and areforced to fight the pirates who assume they can easily win the battle butthey’re surprised about the outcome of the battle and of where the treasure is. This is a must read. It’s the Mona lisa of books. If you like suspense, action,sadness, and excitement, this book has it all. On a scale of one to ten its a tenand a half.
