During the Great Depression, there were many different types of criminals, and many different types of crimes to commit. One of the biggest problems that local sheriffs faced was the problem of bootlegging, the illegal consumption and carrying of alcohol. Pretty Boy Floyd, originally Charles Floyd, one of the most notorious robbers that has ever lived, has robbed over 30 mid-western banks. He was known for filing 10 notches in his pocket watch to remind him of every man he had killed. Floyd was much like the dynamic duo of Bonnie and Clyde. Bonnie and Clyde were said to kill people just for the sheer love of it. They robbed numerous banks along the midwest and then killed anybody who was in the bank to prevent any leads to the police. Bonnie and Clyde were so terifying that other crooks in thier time hated them. Of all the different criminals, there has been solo crooks, and partnerships, but the oddest group of criminals had to be Ma Barker and her boys. The members of this posse included Dock, Freddie, Ma and Ma s boyfriend, Arthur Dunlop. People thought of these people as audacious capers. Ma Barker and her boys became the all-time leaders in major crime, family style crime, kidnappings, murders and robbery.
