How Can I Enhance My Body Physically?

Throughout my life I have always asked myself, How can I enhance my body physically? Having a nice bod can definitely help me in more than one way. Participating in athletics requires me to keep in shape. I am always searching for a better way to increase my muscle mass or drop that mile time down a couple more seconds. Believe me, girls do not mind a guy with a nice body either. Let s be honest here; having a six-pack of abs definitely draws some attention. Not to mention, it can increase your self-esteem and self-image more than 100 %. Keeping in shape keeps me healthy and overall makes my life a lot easier. It provides benefits in all aspects of my life. There is a catch, all this doesn t come without a price. In order to enhance my body I must work very hard. I have to eat a proper diet and exercise regularly. An additional helpful element is both health and performance supplements.

A Proper Diet

A proper diet is a main attribute in enhancing my body. It is often tough to stick with a disciplined diet, but it really is important. Pat Smith, the head football coach at Western Reserve Academy commented:

A specific diet is a very important factor in one s athletic life.

There is not one specific diet that is right for you. Different people need different

nutrients and different types of foods. The main purpose of a diet is to provide the

body with essential nutrients. These nutrients serve as fuel that the body feeds off

of. If your body doesn t have this fuel, than you will flat out break down.

A human body needs specific vitamins and minerals in able to get stronger and survive. According to Leroy Getchell, author of Perspectives on Health, a healthy diet consists of 2-3 servings of the dairy group, 2-3 servings of the meat group, 2-3 servings of the fruit and vegetable group, and most importantly 6-11 servings of the grain group. These portions will provide the minerals needed to increase your muscle mass as well as your endurance. As an athlete I found that I should eat many carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are more than 60 % of the fuel that you take into your body. They give you the energy to participate in sports. If I did not have the suitable diet for myself than everything could go down hill. For example, if I took in too many lipids or fats, then my figure could begin to enlarge and I could lose some definition in my muscles. This would cause my self-image to lesson tremendously. By eating right your body does not become firm or transform into a muscle beach. You must mix different elements of your life style together.

Regular Exercise

An element that is in constant demand is exercise. Exercise is the base contributor in order to get your body looking like you want it to. Exercise has many benefits, but not only the ones you can see on the outside. Stewart Hults, my uncle, as well as a physician, explains, Exercise makes your muscles and bones strong. It works your circulatory and

respiratory systems so that they deliver needed amounts of food and oxygen to your cells with less effort.

Two types of exercise are aerobic and anaerobic exercise. In order to get anywhere with your body, you must have a workout that incorporates these two exercises. Anaerobic exercise deals more with building the body. Robert Portsmith, the editor of Men s Health Magazine writes about anaerobic exercise:

Anaerobic exercise involves intense bursts of activity in which the

muscles work so hard that they produce energy without using oxygen.

Calisthenics, weight training, and sprinting are examples of anaerobic

exercise. If you want to develop muscular strength and endurance,

you will need an anaerobic program of progressive resistance training.

As I found out, I have to exercise constantly and not slack off if I wish to improve my muscular strength and endurance. After I had found two crucial factors, I wanted to find something that I could take that would give my body a little bit of a jump start in the race to reinventing my muscular composition.

Supplements

What I found was an abundance of vitamins, minerals, and legal performance enhancing supplements. Some vitamins, like Metabolife, claim to just have the basic vitamins and minerals that help a person out in everyday life. Companies, such as GNC, manufacture performance-enhancing supplements like Creatine or Rip-Fuel. These products simply aid the average man in fulfilling his dream of having that perfect figure

says Ron Howard, the co-founder of Creatine.com/. Studies are still being computed on supplements like Androstein, the drug that Mark Maguire used in the historic 70 home run season. These drugs are scientifically proven to help a man build muscle, but they are not scientifically proven to be safe.

My Experiment

I decided to take matters into my own hands and conduct an experiment of my body. I wondered if all three, or at least two of these elements must be used in order to get satisfactory results. For three consecutive weeks, I tried each element of the plan that was to enhance my body. The first week, I strictly ate very healthy foods, yet did not exercise at all. The second week, I followed a very stringent workout plan from the August issue of Exercise Magazine. The final week, I took the legal supplement Creatine, combined with no supplementary exercise.

After the first week, I noticed very little physical change, although, mentally I felt very well. Eating right helped me feel better mentally, yet little change physically. At the conclusion of the second week I noticed a slight change in my physique. I looked as if I was building some base muscles. Working out for one week straight definitely began to transform my body. Finally, at the end of my week of taking Creatine, I had noticed no change at all. Actually, I felt very tired and lazy. I concluded that in order for the Creatine to work, it must be used with exercise. If I were to combine all of these aspects, I am sure my body would transform drastically.

In the end, I believe I found a combination that will work for any person who has the determination to put up with foods he/she might not like, the dedication to a very tough workout plan, and the willingness to take some supplements that are reasonably risky.

After completing this plan, I can promise myself that my body will physically upgrade itself more than 30 % at the minimum. This can help me in athletics, in my own self-image, and many other portions of my life.
