A Report On David Letterman:1) What were the subject’s parent’s like?David Letterman’s parents were Joseph & Dorothy Letterman. Dorothy Letterman was always worried about David Letterman when he was a child. She would always worry about his schooling and about his “Silly dream” of becoming a broadcaster. Dorothy Letterman was always wondering if Letterman would be able to achieve anything with the grades thaat he scored. Joseph Letterman was almost the complete opposite and cheered Letterman to seek out his dream by pursuing to become a broadcaster.2.) What early experiences shaped his attitude and interests? David Letterman was born on April 12, 1947. Letterman from a very young age was facinated by broadcasting. When he received a erector set as a young boy, the first thing he built was a microphone. With it he made speeches and made jokes, instead of singing. His biggest influence might have been the famous comedian Arthur Godfrey. Letterman would always try to imitate Godfrey.As a young boy Letterman loved playing sports. During Grade school he was in a Little League and during his years in High School he joined the Track Team.
