I sure appreciate everyone’s thoughts.

I met my husband when he was playing in a band at a local music festival (out in a pasture…you know (remember??) one of

those “Peace. Love. Rock and ROLL!” kind of deals back in the 70’s…hehehe)- so our kids have always had a positive male

role model as far as music goes. I don’t think Tommy thinks of piano as a “girl thing”.

I guess I’m having trouble deciding how much to push him on continuing lessons because what brought on this “I’m not taking

piano lessons next year” is the fact that his favorite TV show (Pokeman)is on during his lesson time. I guess 4 days a week of

Pokeman isn’t enough – he wants 5. *sigh* This seems a tad short-sighted to me.

To be fair, this isn’t the first time this year he’s mentioned wanting to stop lessons; this is just the most adamant he’s been.

I think what we’re going to do is try and convince him to take one more year – because it will help him be a better trumpet

player, which is something he really wants to do but our school doesn’t start band until 5th grade. If he remains solid in his

desire to NOT take lessons, so be it. recently, actually a little over a year ago, i lost my spouse, only 39 with two teenade girls at home. has anyone here been thru

this? i know this is mainly for women but i didn’t know where else to go. i work fulltime and am trying to keep the farm going

too, but it is so hard. no one seems to understand the love we had for the farm and ag in general. we had dreams for our

success and our furture. she helped out so much and gave up so many things in the now to make the FUTURE!!! it is just to

hard for me to now do three things that two shared so equally together. i hope i haven’t offended anyone with this but if any of

you have any input please let me know here. i didn,t give my email because of how this might be received by all or part of you.
